Fluoride Ion

Fluoride occurs naturally within the body as calcium fluoride. Only trace amounts are present in the body, and the daily dietary requirement for maintaining dental and skeletal health is only a few milligrams per day. Most Americans acquire fluoride through drinking water, though not all states fortify their water supply. Without flouroide, teeth are far more prone to decay. Dental health is not only a cosmetic issue but also important to the earliest stages of food digestion.
